To be able to build a new public works facility that is going to properly accomodate daily operations to better serve the public's interest.

How would the neighborhood benefit from the proposed rezoning?
The rezoning of the parcel in question will make way for the ability to redevelop the existing land. The land in question was originally classified to support industrial activity. This former industrial site has been underutilized. The rezoning change will allow for development that will better serve the community by transforming the site to a vibrant Public Works Campus. This change will match the adjoining parcels located across the highway that are classified as MU-4.
How would the public benefit from the proposed rezoning?
This site was chosen for its centralized location for the area it serves. This centralized location for a new public works facility means a more efficient delivery of essential services such as street maintenance, snow removal and public infrastructure repairs.
