LAND ALTERATION

Land Alterations: Filling, grading, or excavating, on shore land property requires a land alteration permit if the activity that you are planning exceeds certain limits.

Describe the proposed alteration Field is required.

There are existing timber and concrete retaining walls, and concrete fill adjacent to the shoreline that will be removed. The toe of the hillside will be graded and reshaped to accommodate the removal of all retaining walls and establish a stable, natural slope. Approximately 2 cubic yards of heavy fill will be installed as needed to establish a stable slope. Seed the area from the toe of the hillside to the heel of the riprap with Creeping Red Fescue. Apply a 10-10-10 fertilizer and granulated lime. Install organic erosion control blanket. Install 12-13 XXL natural stepping stones. Install a 6 foot park bench.

The project area will be accessed from the south on Michelle's property. All of the equipment utilizes large rubber turf tires or rubber tracks to keep turf damage to an absolute minimum. The excavation is for removing the timber and concrete retaining wall, removing the concrete fill, and grading the toe of the hillside where the retaining walls are located. The heavy fill will be installed as needed to establish a stable slope.
