CONDITIONAL USE WORKSHEET
Conditional use permits are typically required on property where the owner does not reside and/or has employees and customer traffic. A CUP needs additional controls or restrictions to assure that it is in harmony with the neighborhood. They are also required for a variety of other uses.

How is the property currently being used?
The property is currently used as my primary residence. I currently have rental tenants that share the house and I currently rent a section of land for the storage of a tiny house on a trailer to a friend while she's traveling which will be removed by 8/31/2021.
What type of business/use is being applied for?
List all uses that will take place.
I am applying to start a small woodworking school to teach woodworking and carpentry classes using a workshop located in the existing garage on the property and using outdoor open space. Through a separate CUP application I've applied to start a private or semi-public campground which involves the creation of rustic tent sites, small bunkhouses and a yurt for camper and student rental. The property will also remain my primary residence but without rental tenants.
DAYS AND HOURS OF OPERATION

The business is a small woodworking school through which I will offer woodworking and carpentry classes to female students. The maximum class size will be 6. Classes will run two weeks and one weekend per month. Class hours will be daytime on weekdays, and one weekend per month I will offer a a multi-day "building camp" to be able to complete larger class projects. Multi-day classes will involve students camping overnight on the property on campsites and in bunkhouses being applied for in a separate CUP application. Multi-day classes will run seasonally during the warmer months only.

Saturday 10:00 a.m. through Sunday 4:00 p.m. one weekend per month seasonally.

There will be approximately 10-12, 6" x 12" signs illuminated with solar powered lighting at designated parking spaces for students and on walkways for building students to campsite locations and location of privy.

Household garbage generated by students will be collected in bins and disposed of at the local solid waste transfer station. Solid wood waste will be burned in campfires or wood stoves. Pure sawdust will be used in the privy or scattered on garden paths or mixed with compost piles. Any wood waste containing chemicals would be disposed of at the local solid waste transfer station.
